About

The Blog

Interpersonal Excellence with Crystal Hernandez is a blog that promotes excellence in marriage and family life from a faith-principled approach to thinking and living. It’s intended to be a source of encouragement, inspiration, as well as, intelligent and practical information for women service professionals for whom career, marriage, and family is a high priority.

While the career and family juggle is common to the working woman-this blog views faith as a powerful resource that holds it all together.

Many women professionals whose personal life includes a marriage and a family aren’t satisfied with a model of achieving career success that excludes family life success—that path is a lonely and incomplete one. And yet, managing a successful career, and marriage and family life is incredibly demanding. However, by allowing their faith to take on a more central role in their life, women find that the “juggle” can become a positive force for personal transformation.

Having established the role of “faith” in the blog’s content I wish to make the following clarifications:

• This is NOT a blog about proselytism, pluralism or tolerance.

• It supports the approach of believing and entrusting oneself to a personal God in faith.

• It also supports the belief of the availability of hope to whoever will accept it.

As women professionals who assert that faith is an essential element of a life well lived, we are not all in the same place in our pilgrimage of faith. I realize that some of you may have not yet arrived at a clear knowledge and recognition of God, although you still attempt, to live the best life you can…while others of you have heard, or are hearing and attempting to respond to the invitation of God who says, “Follow Me” —you have set sail for the pilgrimage of faith.

Wherever you are in your faith journey, I hope that you will act on your own judgment, freedom, and sense of duty to God, rather than being driven by coercive and ill-conceived religious ideology. Why? Well simply because there is no dignity in participating in anything to the contrary.

So much of what I’m saying here was inspired directly from the fabulous book of the late, Great John Paul II, Crossing the Threshold of Hope. This is what the former pontiff said about the attempt to lead a good life:

“…if a life is truly upright it is because the Gospel, not known and therefore not rejected on a conscious level, is in reality already at work in the depths of the person who searches for the truth with honest effort and who willingly accepts it as soon as it becomes known to him. Such willingness is, in fact, a manifestation of grace at work in the soul.”

How apt a statement for the purposes of this blog and its readership! All of the articles, expert interviews, industry news and resources that will be provided focus on relational success in marriage and family life from a faith-principled lifestyle or approach. If this resonates well with you then, you will find the blog useful. If it doesn’t quite resonate, but you want to explore what it has to offer, I hope you find inspiration and encouragement for whatever path you find yourself on at this point in your life.

I look forward to sharing this journey with you. Welcome!
